SB144 Helps Support CTE Programs

As the 82nd Session of the Nevada Legislature is underway, there is one bill we are particularly excited about!

Educate Nevada Now is proud to champion  SB144, a bipartisan bill that provides tax credits to businesses who donate to Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Nevada public schools. Currently, businesses can receive a tax credit for donating to private schools, but there is no tax credit for traditional public schools or charter schools. This bill draws on the concept of similar tax credit programs, and creates a path for supporting public schools by allowing the business community to directly invest in a quality workforce to diversify our economy. Students will have more access to CTE programs that teach them the skills to prepare for their future careers or college. We are proud to support Senator Roberta Lange's thoughtful bill and grateful for the bipartisan list of cosponsors who are helping support Nevada's students and workforce. If you are a parent or student benefitting from CTE, a business looking for a qualified workforce, or a community member that wants to support a strong future for our state, we ask that you support SB144.
