POLICY DEVELOPMENT
Fair and Adequate Funding For Public Schools
Through coalition building, outreach, and policy advocacy, ENN successfully pushed for replacing Nevada's 50-year-old education funding formula. It advocated for a formula responsive to rising costs, evolving educational standards, and demographic changes. ENN continues to fight for appropriate funding and improvements to the new funding formula to ensure every student has the resources necessary to succeed.
LITIGATION
Shea v. Nevada: Education Advocacy Lawsuit
After years of chronic under-performance of Nevada’s public schools and a critical lack of resources, ENN and pro bono partners represented a group of brave parents with children in public schools. They sued in an attempt to hold the State of Nevada accountable for not upholding its constitutional obligation to provide its students with sufficient resources to meet the state’s own mandated standards.
RESEARCH & RESOURCES
Empower Nevada's Future
Educate Nevada Now has teamed up with the Empower Nevada’s Future campaign, a coalition of statewide business leaders, community advocates, educators, and parents, to urge lawmakers to adequately fund Nevada’s schools, addressing a long-standing issue of underfunding. This coalition educates the community on the need for increased K-12 public school funding in Nevada.​
