One Click to Support CTE's Help us move SB144 along with this easy step

There is an easy way to support SB144, a bill that would give businesses a tax credit  to directly support Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Nevada’s public and charter schools.

Please take advantage of the opinion section, available on the Nevada Legislative website, that allows everyone an opportunity to submit their position on a bill outside of public comment or emailing written testimony.

The end of the  82nd legislative session is fast approaching, so important efforts like SB144 need our support to keep moving forward towards passage.

If you want to take advantage of this easy way to show your support just click on the SB144 “Public Opinion” section where you can select your position and submit commentary on why support for our CTE programs is important.

Below are a few of our main reasons we support SB144 and our CTE programs. 

• Students in CTE programs are more likely to graduate high school.

• One of the biggest obstacles to Nevada’s economic development is the lack of a qualified workforce.

• CTE concentrators are more likely to maintain employment and earn more.

• Vulnerable students participating in CTE programs report greater engagement in their schools (ie. improved attendance).

• 51% of jobs in Nevada require work skills training.

• Currently only private schools can benefit from tax credit donations. It’s time to allow CTE’s which support more students and bolster our workforce and economy to have the same benefit.
